Start Date

Cogeneration or trigeneration installation

Project summary

Castle Hill RSL Club was awarded Australian Government funding to install a trigeneration system to provide electricity, heating and cooling at their club facility in Castle Hill, New South Wales.

Need for project

Castle Hill RSL Club operates on a very tight cash-flow and any major capital upgrades are all budgeted well in advance. The main uses of the facility are for dining and entertainment, fitness and aquatic services and function rooms. The Club identified an opportunity to make significant ongoing cost reductions as well as reducing their impact on the environment, given greater energy efficiency.

Project deliverables and outcomes

With a co-contribution from the Castle Hill RSL Club, the club was able to install a trigeneration. This has resulted in the energy efficiency improvement for the Club after the implementation of the system reducing power consumption costs, a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and less maintenance costs. The broader promotion of the system will reinforce the drive for improvement in energy management and public promotion of the Club’s energy savings and emissions reductions will further re-enforce this message
