Project summary

Glen Eira City Council was awarded Australian Government funding to undertake energy efficiency measures at the Moorleigh Community Village building in Bentleigh East, Victoria.

Need for project

As part of its Carbon Emissions Reduction Plan, Glen Eira City Council identified a number of measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in its large and medium buildings. However, due to budget constraints it had not been able to implement all of the measures identified.

With Australian Government funding and a co-contribution by the Council, the Council was able to retrofit the Moorleigh Community Village, which is one of its larger buildings. Moorleigh Community Village is a community facility consisting of a number of rooms that are used by community groups and not-for-profit organisations.
